ENDV 302 GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) (3,1,3) 
Students would be introduced to the use of the GPS in spatial data collection. Components of the GIS include: map and spatial information, computer assisted mapping and map analysis, components of GIS (software, hardware and organisation aspects), types of analysis with GIS, types of work (map data representation), identifying resources for development with GIS. Students will gain experience with applications and utilities of Geographic Information Systems, and learn how to plan and implement a GIS project. Emphasis would also be placed on constraints to application of GIS in Africa, with special reference to Ghana. 
 
ENDV 304 LOCAL GOVERNANCE AND DEVELOPMENT II (3,1,3) 
This course examines the practice of decentralization in Ghana. It is to expose students to understand the practice and trend of decentralization from the colonial period to the present.  Issues such as the development activities of the District Assemblies including the structure, planning processes, financial decentralization, participation of the people and poverty alleviation strategies under the decentralized system of Ghana shall be treated. The role of Traditional Authorities, the decentralized Departments, and NGOs etc. would be examined.
 
ENDV 306 REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA II (3,1,3) 
This course exposes students to the detailed Regional Geography of Africa with special reference to selected regions of Africa. Issues to be discussed are the physical environment and its interrelationships with the human/social environment. These would be treated, mindful of the West African environment and its peculiar challenges to the primary economic activities in the region, industrialization, energy resources, transportation, population distribution, migration and urbanisation, tourism in relation to development.
 
ENDV 308 RESEARCH METHODS II (3,1,3) 
This course would expose students to the use of rigorous statistics in analyzing research data for informed results. Students would be introduced to statistical tools used in analysis including appropriate softwares that makes it easier to establish relationships among data variable such as regressions, and other inferential and descriptive statistical approaches, test of hypotheses, measuring associations, multivariate analysis of variance, etc. 
 
GEOG 310: PROJECT MANAGEMENT II
The course is to acquaint students with the principles and techniques for project implementation, monitoring and ex evaluation. It will therefore focus on: project analysis (financial analysis); project analysis (social analysis); project analysis (institutional analysis); project analysis environmental analysis); project implementation and management; project monitoring; project ex post evaluation and designing and evaluation system.
 
ENDV 312 POLITICS AND DEVELOPMENT II (3,1,3)
The course examines the relationship between major strata of Ghanaian society, the dominant socio-political and economic philosophies, and how Ghana’s development challenges are perceived and addressed.  In particular, it will examine the relationship through case studies of a number of development policy areas: the role of the State; Rural Development and Agriculture; Industrialization; Urban Development; Import/Export Trade; Aid and Debt Crises; Companies and International Agencies like the IMF and World Bank on the development of Ghana.
 
ENDV 314 WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT II (3,1,3)
The course is designed to equip students to the principle and practical aspect of water and wastewater quality assessment, monitoring and treatment. Students will be able to analyze the definite (water quantity) and indefinite (water quality) characteristics of water, including water quality standards, water quality monitoring, water quality assessment tools, regulations and the basics of water and wastewater treatment processes and their limitations in the context of integrated river basin resources management requirements. Students will be engaged in rigorous field studies, site tour of water and wastewater treatment plants and laboratory analysis.
 
ENDV 316 GENDER, ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT (3,1,3)
Through teaching and research, students will be exposed to the critical factors of gender in the development process for a meaningful understanding of the nature of development.  The topics to be addressed are: gender issues in migration and urbanization; labour / Employment in the various sectors, such as the agriculture. Also, population and gender relationships in adolescent education, reproductive health and HIV/AIDS would be treated. Issues such as transitions, new patterns and controversies in gender and development will be considered. Sexuality, Culture, Globalization and Gender in Africa, would also be of interest.   
 
ENDV 318   LOCAL GOVERNANCE AND ENVIRONMENT II (3,1,3)
This course examines the practice of decentralisation in Ghana. It is to expose students to understand the practice and trend of decentralisation from the colonial period to the present.  Issues such as the development activities of the District Assemblies including the structure, planning processes, financial decentralisation, and participation of the people in environmental management as well as poverty alleviation strategies under the decentralised system of Ghana shall be treated. The role of Traditional Authorities, the decentralised Departments, and NGOs etc. would be examined. 
 
ENDV 320 HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (3,1,3)
In this course students will be exposed to the role of the human resource professional as a strategic partner in managing today’s organizations. Key functions such as recruitment, selection, development, appraisal, retention, compensation, and labour relations are examined. Implications of legal and global environments are appraised and current issues such as diversity training, sexual harassment policies, and rising benefit costs are analysed. Best practices of employers of choice are considered in this course. This course should have an internship component for students.
